We are pleased to announce that UKC has designated the United American Pit Bull Terrier Organization as the Provisional National Breed Association for the American Pit Bull Terrier.
The Officers and Board of Directors of this organization have developed Bylaws, Code of Ethics, and a Social media Code of Conduct in order to create a solid foundation for this club that will provide healthy growth. This past year, the membership has developed to 46 members, which also includes 2 Clubs.
The Officers, Board of Directors and Membership are beyond excited to start this endeavor.
The mission of the UAPBTO is to protect the image and standard of the American Pit Bull Terrier through:
Educating communities about the breed and its characteristics
Advocating for the breed against Breed Specific Legistlation (BSL)
Mentoring of individuals new to the American Pit Bull Terrier on the Breed Standard as approved by the United Kennel Club, health, breeding practices, and responsible ownership.
If this is something you may be interested in joining, please email your interest to uapbto@gmail.com and someone will send you an application. All applications are reviewed by a membership committee for recommendations to the board. Membership approval is the sole discretion of the Board of Directors and can be denied for cause.
